1919-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar Fine

0.3575 troy oz .900 1919 Fine

The 1919-D Walking Liberty half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage, struck in 90% fine silver at the Denver Mint. Containing 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal, this half-dollar denomination showcases one of the most celebrated artistic designs in American numismatic history, created by the sculptor Adolph Weinman. The obverse side of the coin presents a powerful image of Lady Liberty moving gracefully toward a rising sun. She is draped in the folds of the American flag, cradling a bundle of branches in her arm as she strides forward. Inscribed on this face are the words IN GOD WE TRUST and the year 1919. On the reverse, a magnificent eagle is depicted perched upon a rugged stone outcrop, wings partially spread as if preparing to take flight. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR frame this naturalistic scene, accompanied by the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. This specific coin has survived over a century of circulation, preserved in Fine condition.
