The 1919 Walking Liberty half dollar stands as a remarkable example of American silver coinage from the early twentieth century. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this fifty-cent piece carries the 'S' mint mark, indicating its West Coast origin. It was minted during an era when United States coinage underwent a dramatic artistic transformation, resulting in some of the most beautiful designs in numismatic history.
