0.3575 troy oz .900 1919 Very Good

Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this 1919 silver half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Crafted from 90% silver, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen survives in Very Good circulated condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that passed through many hands during the early twentieth century. The obverse displays the celebrated design by artist Adolph Weinman, which depicts Lady Liberty moving gracefully toward a rising sun. She carries a bundle of branches in her arm, symbolizing strength and growth. The inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" are clearly visible on this side, framing the iconic figure. On the reverse, a powerful eagle stands perched upon a rugged mountain crag, wings partially spread as if preparing to take flight. The inscriptions on this side include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", and the denomination "HALF DOLLAR". The small "S" mint mark denotes its origin from the historic West Coast minting facility.
