1920-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar VF
The 1920 Walking Liberty half dollar represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Minted in San Francisco, this fifty cent piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 90 percent. Surviving in Very Fine condition, the coin preserves the fine details of its celebrated artwork, allowing observers to appreciate the craftsmanship of its era. Designed by Adolph Weinman, the obverse displays a powerful image of Lady Liberty moving gracefully toward a rising sun. She carries a bundle of branches in her arms, symbolizing strength and peace, while the year 1920 is clearly visible at the base. The inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "LIBERTY" accompany this iconic figure. On the reverse, a majestic eagle stands perched upon a rocky outcrop, its wings spread wide in a display of natural power. The San Francisco mint mark is located on this side of the coin. The reverse inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "HALF DOLLAR", and the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
