1921 Mexico Gold 20 Pesos AU
Struck in 1921 by the Banco de México, this gold coin carries a face value of 20 Pesos. It is composed of 0.900 fine gold, containing 0.4823 troy ounces of precious metal. Preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, the piece offers a remarkable window into twentieth-century Mexican coinage, showcasing detailed artistry on both of its faces. One side of the coin features the classic Mexican coat of arms, depicting a powerful eagle perched upon a cactus while gripping a snake in its beak. The year of issue, 1921, is positioned just below the wing of the eagle. The opposite side is dominated by a highly detailed rendering of the famous Aztec calendar stone. Surrounding this central design is an inscription denoting the denomination alongside the metal content, reading in part as fifteen grams of pure gold.
