The year 1921 marked a significant revival for one of America's most recognizable silver coins. After a production halt that lasted from 1904 until 1921, these silver dollars were struck once again. This specific issue showcases the classic design with slight wear while still retaining the majority of its original mint luster, offering a wonderful window into early twentieth-century American coinage. The obverse of the coin features a left-facing portrait of Liberty. Breaking from traditional European-style depictions, this design was the first United States coin to present Liberty with a distinctly American appearance. She wears a Phrygian cap decorated with native American agricultural elements, specifically wheat and cotton. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread wide, holding both an olive branch and arrows, a combination meant to represent the dual concepts of peace and national defense. Minted in Philadelphia (which bears no mint mark), Denver (indicated by a D), or San Francisco (marked with an S), each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver with a purity of 0.900. The inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "ONE DOLLAR", and the traditional motto "In God We Trust".
