0.7734 troy oz .900 1921 Cull

In 1921, the United States brought back a classic numismatic design for one final year. The Morgan Silver Dollar, which had previously been suspended in 1904, returned for a brief, single-year revival. These particular silver coins, struck at the Philadelphia, Denver, or San Francisco mints, now show heavy wear and significant signs of handling, carrying the physical story of their long journey through circulation. Designed by George T. Morgan, the obverse of the coin presents a left-facing portrait of Liberty. Rather than relying on classical Greek or Roman features, the artist modeled his depiction on an American woman, Anna Willess Williams, making it the first United States coin to showcase a distinctly American-style Lady Liberty. Her cap is decorated with native agricultural elements, specifically cotton and wheat. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch and a cluster of arrows to represent a dual message of a desire for peace and a readiness for national defense. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and the motto "In God We Trust." Each coin contains approximately 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, representing a historic era of American coinage.
