The 1921 Peace Dollar marks the beginning of a beloved American silver series, minted to celebrate a period of global harmony following the Great War. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this first year issue carries no mint mark, leaving its clean surfaces to showcase the artistry of its design. The coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver, preserved in a certified Mint State 61 condition. On the obverse, a youthful personification of Liberty looks forward, her hair bound and adorned with a crown of sharp, radiating light beams. Below her portrait rests the date of 1921. The reverse presents a powerful bald eagle perched upon a mountain crag, clutching an olive branch as it watches the sunrise.
