0.7734 troy oz .900 1921 MS-63 (PCGS)

The year 1921 marked the debut of a new design in American silver coinage, celebrating the return of global harmony. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint with no mint mark, this inaugural issue of the Peace Dollar series stands out for its distinctive high relief, which gives the design an unusually deep, sculptural quality. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 63 (MS-63), preserving the crispness of its original strike and the luster of its ninety percent silver composition. The obverse features a classic profile of Liberty facing left, wearing a crown of sharp light rays. The word LIBERTY is paired with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, rendered with a classic spelling of the letter V. On the reverse, an eagle is perched on a mountain crag, clutching an olive branch as it looks toward the dawn. The word PEACE is inscribed at the base, accompanied by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the ONE DOLLAR denomination.
