The 1921-S Morgan Silver Dollar represents the final year of one of America's most celebrated coin series. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver, combined with copper to create a durable 90 percent silver alloy. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original striking over a century ago. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap. Her hair band is inscribed with the word "Liberty," nestled among cotton bolls and wheat heads. Surrounding the portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the year 1921, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." This iconic depiction was created by designer George T. Morgan, who used schoolteacher Anna Willess Williams as his model. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping arrows and an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing both strength and peace. A laurel wreath cradles the lower half of the design. The inscriptions "United States of America" and "One Dollar" encircle the eagle, while the motto "In God We Trust" is positioned directly above its head. Just below the wreath, the small "S" mint mark identifies this coin as a product of the San Francisco facility.
