1922-1925 Peace Silver Dollar BU - w/Eagle Wings Card

0.7734 troy oz .900 Random Year Brilliant Unc

In the wake of the First World War, a national competition was held to select a fresh design for the United States silver dollar. The winning creation, crafted by Anthony de Francisci, resulted in the Peace Silver Dollar, which was struck from 1921 to 1928, and once more from 1934 to 1935. This particular brilliant uncirculated coin represents the early years of the design, minted between 1922 and 1925. The obverse of the coin showcases a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a crown of sharp light rays, a depiction inspired by the Statue of Liberty. Legible inscriptions on this side include the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, spelled with a classic V in place of the U. On the reverse, a bald eagle rests upon a stone crag while holding an olive branch, a powerful image meant to represent the peace achieved after the Great War. Each of these silver dollars is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal.
