Struck during the years spanning 1922 to 1935, this United States silver dollar represents a significant chapter in American coinage. It stands as the final silver dollar minted for circulation in the nation's history, marking the end of an era for precious metal coinage in daily commerce. Each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 90 percent. The imagery on the coin captures a national mood of hope and recovery. On the obverse, a left-facing profile of Liberty wears a crown of radiating light beams, a depiction inspired by the Statue of Liberty. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" appears across the field, utilizing a classic spelling style with a "V" in place of the "U" in "TRUST." On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted resting on a stone crag while holding an olive branch. This specific design was created by Anthony de Francisci to symbolize tranquility and honor the peace achieved following the First World War.
