1922-D Peace Dollar BU
The 1922 Peace Dollar stands as a classic representation of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, this particular issue carries the 'D' mint mark, representing a production run of 15,063,000 pieces. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal and is preserved in Mint State 60 condition. On the obverse, a profile of Lady Liberty is depicted wearing a crown of sharp, radiating light beams. The design is accompanied by the modified motto 'IN GOD WE TRVST', utilizing the traditional Latin spelling of the letter 'V' for 'U'. Below her portrait, the year 1922 is clearly inscribed. The reverse side presents a powerful yet serene image of a Bald Eagle perched quietly on an olive branch. Inscribed below the eagle is the single word 'PEACE', signifying the hopeful era in which the coin was minted. This side also displays the denomination of 'ONE DOLLAR'.
