1922 Gold $1.00 Grant w/Star MS-64 PCGS

In 1922, the Philadelphia Mint struck a special gold dollar to honor Ulysses S. Grant. This particular variety is distinguished by a small star on the obverse design, positioned above the portrait of the Civil War general and president. Out of the entire production run, only 5,016 of these gold coins were minted, making them an incredibly scarce artifact of early twentieth-century American coinage. The obverse displays a profile of Grant alongside the star, while the reverse features a humble log cabin surrounded by tall trees. The inscriptions on the coin include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "ONE DOLLAR". This specimen has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-65) condition, showcasing the original luster and fine details of the engraving just as it left the Philadelphia Mint over a century ago.
