In 1923, the Denver Mint produced a striking run of the twenty dollar gold piece, widely considered one of the most beautiful coins ever issued by the United States. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, preserving the intricate details of its celebrated design. Composed of 0.900 fine gold, the coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse displays a powerful depiction of Lady Liberty striding forward, holding a lit torch to guide the way and an olive branch as a symbol of peace, set against a backdrop of rising sun rays. The reverse captures a majestic bald eagle soaring through the sky, accompanied by the bold inscriptions of the issuing nation, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the face value, TWENTY DOLLARS. Designed by the famous sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this series was minted from 1907 to 1933.
