The 1923-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage, struck in 90 percent silver at the San Francisco Mint. This fifty-cent piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of silver, combining precious metal content with one of the most celebrated designs in American numismatic history. On the obverse, Lady Liberty is depicted in mid-stride, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling branches in her arms. This side bears the date 1923 and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse showcases a powerful eagle perched on a rocky crag, its wings outstretched in a display of strength. The reverse inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, the denomination HALF DOLLAR, and the distinctive S mint mark.
