0.0000 troy oz 1924 Almost Unc

The 1924 Buffalo Nickel is a classic example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Strikingly distinct, this five-cent piece captures a rugged, naturalistic aesthetic. The obverse features the powerful profile of a Native American, looking toward the right, with the word "LIBERTY" and the date "1924" clearly visible. This design, created by James Earle Fraser, remains one of the most celebrated portraits in numismatic history. On the reverse, a massive American bison stands on a raised mound, symbolizing the wild frontier. Above the bison, the legend reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" alongside the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM", while the denomination "FIVE CENTS" is placed below. Because this coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, it does not display a mint mark, leaving the space below the mound clean and uncluttered. This specific coin has survived in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine textures of the native headdress and the bison's coat.
