0.0000 troy oz 1924 Very Good

The 1924 five-cent piece from the Denver Mint offers a window into a classic era of American coinage design. Created by sculptor James Earle Fraser, this issue replaces traditional neoclassical figures with imagery deeply rooted in the American landscape. The coin presents two distinct and powerful portraits that capture the spirit of the frontier. On the obverse, the profile of a Native American chief faces right, accompanied by the year of issue stamped on the lower left. The reverse displays a massive American bison positioned on a raised mound of earth. Below this grassy hill, the denomination is clearly marked, while the Denver Mint's signature "D" mark is positioned underneath the value. The legend on the reverse also carries the traditional national mottos, celebrating the heritage of the United States in a uniquely rustic style.
