This 1924 silver half dollar commemorates a major milestone, marking three centuries since a significant historical migration. The front of the coin displays the profiles of two prominent historical figures, Admiral Coligny and William the Silent. Inscriptions surrounding the portraits include the words HUGUENOT, COLIGNY, and WILLIAM, alongside the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the denomination expressed as HALF DOLLAR. The models for this detailed design were prepared by the noted engraver George T. Morgan. On the reverse, the design features the Nieuw Nederland, the vessel that transported the settlers. The surrounding text marks the anniversary with HUGUENOT WALLOON TERCENTENARY, noting the years 1624 to 1924, and identifies the issuing nation as the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
