0.0715 troy oz .900 1924 Almost Unc

The 1924 silver dime stands as a striking example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver with a precious metal content of 0.0715 troy ounces, this ten-cent piece is widely recognized by its distinctive imagery. This particular coin survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the subtle details of its original artistic engraving. On the obverse, the design showcases a youthful personification of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap. This winged headwear often led to the popular, though incorrect, nickname of the Mercury Dime, as it resembled the Roman messenger god. The face of the coin is inscribed with the word LIBERTY and the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1924 year of issue. The reverse of the coin presents a powerful combination of symbols: a fasces, which is a bundle of rods bound around an ax, paired with a leafy olive branch. These elements represent strength and peace. The outer rim is inscribed with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME, while the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is nestled in the right field.
