The 1924 Peace Dollar stands as a remarkable monument in American numismatic history, representing the final silver dollar design minted for circulation in the United States. This series was struck during a specific window of time, running from 1921 to 1928, with a brief revival in 1934 and 1935. The design itself emerged from an artistic competition aimed at creating a fresh look for the nation's silver coinage. On the obverse, a left-facing profile of Liberty wears a crown of radiating light beams. This depiction was modeled after the Statue of Liberty, bringing a classic national symbol to the palm of the hand. The legend "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed across the field, alongside the date of 1924. The reverse side presents a powerful image of a bald eagle resting on a mountain peak, clutching an olive branch. This specific imagery was chosen to represent peace, celebrating the end of World War I. The word "PEACE" is clearly inscribed at the base of the design, alongside the denomination "ONE DOLLAR". Each of these coins contains approximately 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 90 percent.
