1925 $20 St Gaudens Gold Double Eagle MS-66 PCGS

0.9675 troy oz .900 1925 PCGS

In 1925, the Philadelphia Mint produced 2,831,750 of the twenty-dollar gold coins known as the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. Because these coins were struck at the main Philadelphia facility, they carry no mint mark. This particular specimen has survived the decades in an extraordinary state of preservation, earning a high grade of Mint State 66 (MS-66) from a professional certification service. The obverse of the coin features the word LIBERTY, partially visible in the inscription, alongside the date of 1925. Struck from 0.900 fine gold, this historic issue contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal. Its design remains one of the most celebrated in United States coinage, representing a high point in American numismatic artistry during the pre-1933 era.
