Struck in the United States during the mid 1920s, this ten cent piece is a classic example of American coinage from the pre 1933 era. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents a beloved design series that circulated widely throughout the early twentieth century. The obverse of the coin displays a youthful depiction of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, a design element originally created by Adolph Weinman. This distinctive headgear often led observers to mistake the figure for the Roman messenger god, giving the series its popular nickname. Legible inscriptions on this side include the date 1925 and the traditional motto IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, the design features a fasces paired with an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM is also present on this side. These specimens survive in a condition graded as Good or better, showing the honest wear of a coin that passed through many hands during a dynamic decade in American history.
