Struck in 1925 at the Philadelphia Mint, this ten-cent silver piece is a classic example of United States coinage from the era before 1933. Formed from 0.900 fine silver, the coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It has survived the decades in Extra Fine condition, preserving the artistic details of its celebrated engraving. The obverse features a youthful depiction of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wings, a design element that famously led the public to mistake her for the Roman messenger god, Mercury. Alongside this portrait, the timeless motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is clearly visible. On the reverse, the design pairs a traditional fasces with an olive branch, symbolizing the dual concepts of strength and peace. The legends "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DIME" frame this central motif, along with the Latin phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
