0.4838 troy oz .900 1926 Almost Unc

In 1926, the Philadelphia Mint produced this ten dollar gold piece, a stunning example of United States coinage from the pre-1933 era. Struck from 0.900 fine gold, this coin contains 0.4838 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents a famous design series that circulated from 1907 to 1933, brought to life by the celebrated sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The front of the coin presents a distinctive depiction of Lady Liberty, who wears a traditional Native American war bonnet. Thirteen stars arch over her portrait, representing the original colonies, while the word LIBERTY is inscribed across her hair band. The year 1926 is clearly stamped below her profile. On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle stands proudly. The back of the coin is rich with classic American inscriptions, including UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the national mottoes E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST, and the face value of TEN DOLLARS. Preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, this coin offers a fascinating glimpse into early twentieth-century American artistry.
