In 1926, the United States Mint released a commemorative silver half dollar marking 150 years of American independence. This issue holds a unique place in numismatic history because it represents the very first time a United States coin depicted a sitting president during their lifetime. The obverse of this coin features the overlapping profiles of George Washington and Calvin Coolidge, who was the president in office at the time of the anniversary. On the reverse, the design showcases a detailed representation of the Liberty Bell, symbolizing the nation's founding. Struck with a silver purity of 0.900, each piece contains 0.3617 troy ounces of precious metal. Out of a total mintage of 141,120 pieces, this particular specimen has survived in exceptional condition, graded as Mint State 63 (MS-63) with distinctive toning that enhances its visual character.
