1926 Peace Dollar XF

0.7734 troy oz .900 1926 Extra Fine

The 1926 Peace Dollar stands as an intriguing example of American silver coinage, minted at the Philadelphia facility. Because it was produced at the main mint, it features no mint mark, leaving the fields around the design clean and focused entirely on the artistry. Struck in 90 percent silver, each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. On the obverse, a youthful Lady Liberty is depicted in profile, her hair bound and adorned with a crown of sharp, radiating light rays. The word LIBERTY is spaced above her, while the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is split across the lower field, accompanied by the 1926 date at the bottom. Turning the coin over reveals a powerful bald eagle perched quietly upon a mountain crag. The bird holds an olive branch in its talons, looking out toward a rising sun. Below the eagle, the word PEACE is inscribed, anchoring the coin's message of harmony. The reverse also displays the denomination of ONE DOLLAR alongside the national identification.
