Struck in 1926 to mark 150 years of American independence, this silver half dollar represents a unique moment in United States numismatic history. The obverse of the coin showcases the profiles of two presidents side by side: George Washington and Calvin Coolidge. This design marked the very first time a living president had their likeness depicted on an official United States coin during their lifetime. The reverse of the coin displays a detailed representation of the iconic Liberty Bell, complete with the years 1776 and 1926 flanking the design to signify the sesquicentennial milestone. Minted in Philadelphia with a total mintage of 141,120 pieces, each coin contains 0.3617 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver. This particular specimen survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the historic dual-portrait design and the commemorative bell imagery.
