1927 $20 St Gaudens Gold Double Eagle MS-64 PCGS

0.9675 troy oz .900 1927 PCGS

In 1927, the Philadelphia Mint produced this twenty dollar gold piece, representing a high point in American numismatic design. Composed of 0.900 fine gold, the coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal. The series itself was minted from 1907 to 1933, serving as a staple of United States coinage during the early twentieth century. This issue was designed by the celebrated artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The front of the coin presents a powerful image of Lady Liberty walking forward, illuminated by the radiant rays of a rising sun. On the back, a majestic bald eagle is captured mid-flight, soaring across the design. The reverse also displays the clear inscriptions "United States of America" and the face value, "Twenty Dollars."
