1927-D Peace Dollar AU
The 1927-D Peace Dollar represents a fascinating moment in American coinage, minted at the Denver facility during the late 1920s. This particular issue had a total production run of 1,268,900 pieces, making it a notable representative of the series. Struck in 90 percent silver, each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal and survives today in Almost Uncirculated condition, retaining much of its original luster and detail. On the obverse, the design presents the profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a crown of radiating light beams, with the date of 1927 positioned directly below her portrait. The legend includes the familiar national motto, spelled on this series as IN GOD WE TRVST. The reverse side of the coin displays a bald eagle perched quietly on an olive branch. The eagle looks out toward the horizon, with the word PEACE inscribed clearly at the very bottom of the design. The Denver mint mark, a small letter D, is also located on this side, designating its origin at the Colorado minting facility.
