Struck by the Banco de México, this magnificent gold coin from 1927 represents a classic era of Mexican coinage. Containing 1.2057 ounces of pure gold with a fineness of 0.900, the coin is a substantial and beautifully crafted piece of history. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 62 (MS-62) condition, preserving the intricate details of its original strike from a mintage of 606,000 pieces. The obverse of the coin displays the national coat of arms of Mexico, depicting a powerful eagle perched upon a cactus while gripping a snake. On the reverse, the design features the iconic Winged Victory, also known as the Angel of Independence. The reverse design is accompanied by inscriptions indicating its weight and purity, including the markings for 37.5 grams of pure gold, alongside the historic year 1821.
