Struck to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Vermont, this 1927 silver half dollar showcases a distinct design that captures the rugged spirit of the Green Mountain State. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3617 troy ounces of precious metal, and is preserved in a certified Mint State 64 condition. The obverse of the coin displays a profile portrait of Ira Allen, recognized as a founder of Vermont. His name is clearly inscribed alongside his likeness. On the reverse, the design features a walking wildcat, a powerful symbol of the local wilderness. The inscriptions commemorate the sesquicentennial with the dates 1777 to 1927, alongside the denomination of half dollar.
