The 1928 Buffalo Nickel stands as a classic example of American coinage, showcasing a distinct artistic direction from the early twentieth century. This particular five-cent piece is graded in exceptional Mint State 65 (MS-65) condition, preserving the fine textures and sharp details originally envisioned by the artist, James Earle Fraser. On the obverse, the coin displays a powerful profile of an American Indian, accompanied by the legible inscription of the word LIBERTY. The reverse features an impressive American bison standing upon a raised plain. Below the majestic animal, the denomination is clearly marked as FIVE CENTS, while the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is also integrated into the design.
