The 1928 silver ten-cent piece from the Denver Mint offers a compelling look at early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in 90 percent pure silver, this dime is a notable representative of the Mercury Dime series. The coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal and is preserved in Extra Fine condition, displaying the clear details of its original artistry. Created by the artist Adolph Weinman, the obverse of the coin features a youthful depiction of Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with wings, a design element that historically led the public to mistake her for the Roman messenger god Mercury, giving the series its popular nickname. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year 1928 are clearly visible on this side. The reverse side of the coin presents a powerful combination of symbols, pairing a traditional fasces with a leafy olive branch to represent both strength and a desire for peace. The Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is legible alongside the denomination "ONE DIME" and the "D" mint mark, which indicates its production at the Denver facility.
