Struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1928, this ten-cent silver piece represents a classic era of American coinage. With a total mintage of 7,400,000, each coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 90 percent. This particular specimen is preserved in Extra Fine condition, showcasing the finer details of its intricate artwork. The obverse of the coin displays a youthful depiction of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, a design element intended to symbolize freedom of thought. Surrounding the portrait are the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year of issue, "1928". On the reverse, the central design features a traditional fasces paired with an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The outer edge is inscribed with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "ONE DIME", while the Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is nestled alongside the design. The "S" mint mark is also clearly visible, identifying its origin from the West Coast minting facility.
