0.0000 troy oz 1929 Extra Fine

In 1929, the Denver Mint produced a five-cent piece that remains one of the most recognizable and celebrated designs in United States coinage. This coin, representing the Indian Head series, showcases the creative vision of sculptor James Earle Fraser. The design captures a powerful, composite portrait of an American Indian on the obverse, facing right with feathers in his hair. On the reverse, a massive American bison stands atop a raised mound, a rugged representation of the American West. Just below this mound, the Denver Mint placed its distinctive "D" mint mark, indicating its origin in Colorado. The legendary design is accompanied by classic inscriptions, including the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the face value of "FIVE CENTS" along the bottom.
