The 1929-D Mercury Dime is a fascinating artifact from the final year of the roaring twenties, minted at the Denver facility just before the Great Depression reshaped the American landscape. Struck in 90% fine silver with a precious metal weight of 0.0715 troy ounces, this ten-cent piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. This particular specimen survives in a circulated, Very Fine condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that likely passed through many hands during a pivotal moment in history. On the obverse, the design presents a youthful personification of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, an image that the public famously mistook for the Roman messenger god Mercury. This side also bears the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the 1929 date of issue.
