Struck in 1929 at the Denver Mint, this silver half dollar belongs to one of the most celebrated design eras in United States coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, with a precious metal content of 0.3575 troy ounces, the coin carries the distinct 'D' mint mark, signaling its origin from the Colorado facility just before the onset of the Great Depression. The obverse showcases a graceful depiction of Lady Liberty moving toward a rising sun. She carries a bundle of branches in her arms, symbolizing strength and peace, while the national motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' is visible in the field. This design, created by Adolph Weinman, remains a high point of American numismatic art. On the reverse, a powerful eagle is perched upon a rocky crag, wings partially spread as if preparing to launch into the sky.
