1929-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar XF

0.3575 troy oz .900 1929 Extra Fine

The 1929 Walking Liberty half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage, struck in 90 percent silver at the Denver Mint. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the intricate details of a design that has long been celebrated for its artistic merit. On the obverse, the figure of Liberty is depicted in mid-stride, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of branches in her arm. The legendary mottoes "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "1929" are clearly visible on this side, framing the iconic personification of freedom. The reverse of the coin features a powerful eagle perched firmly upon a mountain crag. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "HALF DOLLAR" encircle the majestic bird, alongside the traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Designed by Adolph Weinman, this half dollar contains 0.3575 troy ounces of pure silver and stands as a testament to early twentieth-century American engraving.
