The 1929 ten-cent piece offers a captivating look at one of the most celebrated designs in United States coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver with a precious metal content of 0.0715 troy ounces, this coin is preserved in Extra Fine condition, allowing its intricate details to remain remarkably clear. On the obverse, a youthful depiction of Liberty wears a winged Phrygian cap, a powerful symbol of freedom of thought. This iconic portrait led to the popular, though technically incorrect, nickname of the Mercury Dime. The front also bears the inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" alongside the 1929 date. The reverse side presents a contrasting yet harmonious pair of symbols: a fasces, representing strength and collective authority, entwined with an olive branch to signify a desire for peace. The Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the denomination "ONE DIME" are clearly inscribed, framing the central design.
