In 1929, the Banco de México released a striking gold coin that stands as the largest bullion issue from the country. Struck with a purity of 0.900 gold, this substantial piece contains 1.2057 troy ounces of precious metal. It belongs to a celebrated series produced between 1921 and 1947, with this specific year seeing a mintage of 458,000 pieces. This specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving its original luster and intricate details. The obverse of the coin displays the proud national coat of arms of Mexico, surrounded by the inscription ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. This powerful symbol of statehood is paired with a reverse design that celebrates national freedom, dominated by the winged figure of the Angel of Independence. Inscriptions on the reverse clearly declare its denomination and weight, showing 50 PESOS alongside 37.5Gr. ORO PURO, which translates to 37.5 grams of pure gold.
