In 1930, the Philadelphia Mint produced a limited run of half a million silver coins for the Republic of Panama. This tenth-Balboa piece, cataloged as KM-10.1, represents a fascinating cross-border numismatic partnership, struck in 90 percent pure silver with a precious metal weight of 0.0723 troy ounces. The obverse displays the official coat of arms of Panama, positioned directly above the 1930 year of issue. Surrounding inscriptions indicate the country of origin, the purity of the alloy (0.900), and the weight details of the coin.
