The 1932 ten-dollar gold piece represents the final years of a legendary era in United States coinage. Struck in Philadelphia, this coin contains 0.4838 troy ounces of gold with a purity of 0.900. It survives today in Almost Uncirculated condition, offering a remarkably clear look at a design that departed from traditional American numismatic imagery. On the obverse, designer Augustus Saint-Gaudens depicted Lady Liberty wearing a Native American war bonnet, a striking artistic choice surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies.
