This gold coin, minted in 1932, represents an intriguing chapter in Balkan numismatic history. Following the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Yugoslavia introduced its inaugural gold coinage in 1931. This subsequent 1932 issue, denominated as a single Dukat, contains 0.1106 troy ounces of highly pure 0.986 fine gold, with an estimated mintage of approximately 70,000 pieces. The obverse of the coin displays the profile of King Alexander I. What makes this specific issue particularly fascinating is a distinct counterstamp depicting an ear of corn, which is struck directly onto the royal portrait.
