1934-D Buffalo Nickel XF
The 1934 Buffalo nickel struck at the Denver Mint represents a classic era of American coinage design. Crafted by sculptor James Earle Fraser, this five cent piece showcases a remarkably detailed profile of a Native American on its obverse. The word LIBERTY is inscribed along the upper right edge, with the year 1934 clearly displayed at the bottom of the portrait. On the reverse, a magnificent American bison stands atop a raised mound of earth. The Denver mint mark, a letter D, is positioned beneath the mound, indicating its origin at the Colorado facility. This side also bears the traditional national motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the denomination FIVE CENTS, completing a design that remains one of the most celebrated in United States numismatic history.
