The 1934 Denver Mint silver dollar stands as a remarkable artifact from an era when the nation collectively embraced a spirit of harmony. Struck with a composition of 90 percent silver, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of the precious metal. Surviving today in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of the original luster and detail that emerged from the Colorado minting facility nearly a century ago. On the obverse, a profile of Lady Liberty appears wearing a crown of sharp, radiating beams of light. The word LIBERTY arches above her, while the motto IN GOD WE TRVST is split across the field, utilizing the classic Latin spelling for the letter U. The year 1934 is inscribed clearly at the very bottom. The reverse side presents a powerful yet serene composition featuring a bald eagle perched quietly upon a mountain crag. In its talons, the national bird holds an olive branch, the universal symbol of harmony. The word PEACE is inscribed directly onto the rock below the eagle, grounding the entire design in its namesake theme. The Denver Mint mark, a small D, is also visible on this side, marking its origin from the high-altitude mint.
