The 1934 half dollar struck at the Denver Mint showcases one of the most celebrated designs in United States coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver, this coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 63 (MS-63) condition, preserving the intricate details of its mid-depression era minting. Adolph Weinman designed the striking imagery on both sides of the coin. The obverse presents a powerful depiction of Lady Liberty draped in the American flag, striding toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of oak and olive branches. The words IN GOD WE TRUST are inscribed in the field behind her. On the reverse, a magnificent eagle stands perched upon a rocky mountain crag. Its wings are partially unfurled as if preparing for flight, conveying a sense of strength and readiness. The traditional national motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM, is displayed alongside the eagle, completing a design that remains a high point of American numismatic art.
