The 1935 five-cent piece stands as a classic example of United States coinage, showcasing a design that departs from traditional allegorical figures to celebrate the rugged heritage of the American frontier. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin belongs to the celebrated Indian Head series, which brought a new level of realism and artistic expression to everyday pocket change. On the obverse, the coin displays a detailed profile of a Native American, captured with deep texture and expression. The word LIBERTY is inscribed along the upper right edge, while the date 1935 is clearly stamped at the base of the portrait.
