1935 Buffalo Nickel BU

0.0000 troy oz 1935 Brilliant Unc

The 1935 five-cent piece stands as a classic example of American coinage, showcasing a design created by James Earle Fraser. The front of this copper-alloy coin features a detailed profile of a Native American chieftain, accompanied by the word LIBERTY and the date of manufacture. This powerful portrait captures a sense of dignity and strength that remains highly regarded by enthusiasts. On the reverse side, a massive American bison stands atop a raised mound of earth. The inscriptions include the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM alongside the denomination of FIVE CENTS. Because this particular issue was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, it bears no mint mark, leaving the space beneath the bison clean and uninterrupted. This brilliant uncirculated specimen preserves the fine textures of Fraser's artwork, from the braided hair of the portrait to the rough hide of the buffalo.
