1935 Buffalo Nickel XF

0.0000 troy oz 1935 Extra Fine

The 1935 Buffalo nickel stands as a classic example of twentieth century American coinage. Struck in Philadelphia, this five cent piece showcases a highly detailed portrait of a Native American facing right on its obverse. The word LIBERTY is inscribed along the upper right edge, with the year 1935 clearly displayed at the base of the neck. On the reverse, a magnificent American bison stands atop a raised mound of earth. The Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is positioned above the animal's back, while the denomination FIVE CENTS is boldly inscribed along the bottom border. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the strong textures and bold lines originally envisioned by its designer, James Earle Fraser.
